  8. Nonlin performs linear and nonlinear statistical regression analysis.
  9. Nonlin determines the values of parameters for an equation, whose form
  10. you specify, that cause the equation to best fit a set of data values.
  11. Nonlin can handle linear, multivariate, polynomial, logistic, and
  12. general nonlinear equations. You specify the form of the equation
  13. using normal algebraic notation. Nonlin includes a rich set of
  14. built-in library functions such as trig, probability, exponential,
  15. log, Bessel, etc. that you can use in the equation being fitted to the
  16. data.

  18. In addition to fitting the equation to the data, Nonlin determines a
  19. variety of statistics including confidence intervals, t and F
  20. statistics, and Durbin-Watson test for autocorrelation. Nonlin can
  21. also plot the data and fitted equation.

  23. Nonlin includes a 60 page manual that explains regression analysis and
  24. gives many examples.

  27. available.  It is in use at many labs and universities around the
  28. world.
